Wanda Prater

Wanda Lee Prater went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2021 in her home in West Memphis, Arkansas.  She was born September 14, 1938 in Marked Tree, Arkansas to parents Eudell and Dovie Kent.

She was a homemaker and an active member of Avondale Missionary Baptist Church for 35 years and showed her love for Jesus by loving and ministering to others every dance she got.  She devoted her life to loving and caring for her family.  She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend but everybody knew her as Mema and that was her favorite role.  She filled her house with Jesus, love and laughter and made you want to stay forever.  She never let you leave without a few extra hugs and kisses and always waved goodbye.  Her family will miss her always but will cherish the love and joy she shared with us for so many years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Max Dale Prater, her daughter: Sherrie Lee Harbor, two sons: Randy and Mark Prater, her first granddaughter: Robyn Lee Harbor, two brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her son: Michael Prater of West Memphis, Arkansas, four grandsons: Eryk Prater of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Randy Prater (Kayla) of West Memphis, Arkansas, Blake Prater of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Caleb Prater of Memphis, Tennessee, two granddaughters: Tommie Grace Prater of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Maura Prater of Crawfordsville, Arkansas, four great-grandchildren: McKenna, Estelle, Aelyious and Max Prater, three sisters: Barbara Harris, Martha Howard and Patsy Harris and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 2:00p.m. at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas.

Visitation will be held from 1:00p.m. until service time.

Interment will follow at Marked Tree Cemetery in Marked Tree, Arkansas.
