Wallas Ross, 81, of Marked Tree, departed this life Friday, February 2, 2018 in Jonesboro. He was born March 22, 1936 to John Craig and Nellie Gray Worley Ross. He attended First Baptist Church in Tyronza, Retired John Deere Parts Clerk, May 22, 1999 was named Wallas Ross Day and the Baseball Field was named after him.
Wallas is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Frank and Charles “Buddy” Ross and 1 sister: Dorothy McGuire .
Mr. Ross is survived by his wife of 62 years: Doyce “Dot” Ross of Marked Tree, 1 son: Gregg Ross (Ruth) of Marked Tree, 2 daughters: Kimberly Johnson of Marked Tree, and Rhonda Hood (David) of Marion, 4 brothers: Billy Ross of Millington, Tennessee, Troy Ross of Hot Springs, Johnny Earl of Beasley, and Robert Ross of Tyronza, 3 sisters: Geneva Holder of Germantown, Tennessee, Janie Drace of Tyronza, and Bettie Burnett of Jonesboro, 3 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, February 5, 2018 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree. Funeral will be Tuesday February 6, 2018 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Tyronza.
Interment will follow at Tyronza Cemetery.
