Ruth “Ruthie” Lorelei Nicholsen, 66, of Harrisburg, Arkansas, departed this life , Wednesday, September 09, 2020 in Jonesboro, AR. She was born on June 1, 1954 in Cook, Illinois to Art and Lorelei Nicholsen.
She was a member of Corner’s Chapel Baptist Church in Payneway, Arkansas and First Baptist Church in Itasca, Illinois and worked as a supervisor for Air Transportation. Ruth loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding motorcycles, dirt track racing, animals, feeding and attending to her horse, she took a Whilton cake decorating class and loved spending time with her family. She was very active and involved with Clearbrook, which is a facility for the handicap. Ruth loved donating to this program and enjoyed spending time with the residence.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and second Mom: Tuuli Nicholsen.
She is survived by her husband: John Newcomb of the home, one daughter: Tracey Drace (Robbie) of Harrisburg, Arkansas, two brothers: Ken Baehr (Kay) of Anchorage, Alaska and Brian Baehr (Linda) of New York, five grandchildren: Johnathan “Bug” Drace ( Candace), Austin Drace, Joshua Drace of Harrisburg, Arkansas, Les and David Krzys of River Grove, Illinois, three great grandchildren: Ryder Drace, Ariana and Alessia Krzys, and best friend: Nancey “Little Nance” Krzys (Les) of River Grove, Illinois.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 11:00 am and Visitation will be from 9:30 am – 11:00 am at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas. Brother Glenn Hurst will be officiating the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials to be sent to Clearbrook in care of Kings Global Logistics 300 East Irving Park Rd Wood Dale, Illinois 60191or The Shriner’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.
Due to COVID-19, mask are required at all times at the funeral service and visitation. Mask will not be provided.
