Ronnie Joe Shempert

Ronnie Joe Shempert, of Payneway, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on November 7, 1958, in Lepanto, Arkansas to Elvie Levi and Mary Elizabeth Dixon Shempert. Ronnie was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Jonesboro; he loved flea markets and fishing. He was a wonderful friend to Nick Clayton, Gale Peebles and her mother: Betty Peebles. Ronnie saved many lives by donating his organs. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, great aunt and uncle who raised him: Rena and Alvin Terrell, three sisters: Teresa Shempert, Linda McAvoy and Florence Jackson and one brother: Jackie Shempert.

Ronnie is survived by three brothers: Melvin Shempert of Frenchmans Bayou, Ricky Shempert (Joy) of Dyess and Charles Shempert (Linda) of Gosnell, two sisters: Judy Tyler of Jonesboro and Patty Hunt (Jimmy) of Branson, Missouri, many nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 2, 2024, from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 11:00a.m. at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto.

Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto.
