Robert "Buddy" Hughes

Robert L. “Buddy” Hughes, Jr., 78, of Marked Tree, Arkansas passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on January 13, 1939 to Robert L. Hughes, Sr. and Gracie B. (Parker) Hughes.  Buddy was a self - employed farmer for over 60 years. He served his country in the Arkansas Army National Guard Artillery unit in Marked Tree from 1960-1966. He also was an avid duck and turkey hunter and enjoyed playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Prince Hughes and his parents.

He is survived by his daughters: Janet H. Covey (Rick), and Sharon Hughes, granddaughter: Brittany Pearson Brawner, step grandson: Taylor Covey, great grandson: Kaden Hughes Brawner, sister: Betty Hughes Mednikow (Bob).

Visitation will be held Sunday October 29, 2017 from 4:00pm until 5:30pm at The First United Methodist Church in Marked Tree, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers family request that memorials be sent to the First Methodist Church of Marked Tree or the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
