Richard Ruthven

Richard Clifton Ruthven, a resident of Paragould, Arkansas and formerly of Marked Tree, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2019 at the age of 63.  He was born on November 20, 1955 in Lepanto to Junior and Thelma Ruthven of Marked Tree.

He was a 1974 graduate of Marked Tree High School.  The last few years he has spent many afternoons at the Chicken Stop in Marked Tree visiting his many friends.  Richard was a “Family Man” who enjoyed spending time with his family.  His wife, children and grandchildren were his world.  He loved all activities with his grandchildren especially going to ballgames with Ava, Halleigh and Brooks.

Richard was a faithful member of Marked Tree Baptist Church for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law: Bill Hamrick.

Richard is survived by his wife of 37 years: Theresa Ruthven of the home, one brother: Larry Wayne Ruthven (Pam) of Marked Tree, two sons: Richard Lee Ruthven (Kay) of Paragould and William Ruthven of Marked Tree, grandson: Jeff Wood of Jonesboro, one daughter: Christy Wood of Evening Shade and grandchildren: Ava Grace, Halleigh Kate and Brooks Camden Ruthven all of Paragould and Joe, Brianna, Jacob, Haley and Megan Williams all of Evening Shade.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Marked Tree.

A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 10:00a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Marked Tree with Pastor Dale Noe officiating the service.
