Martha Jean Williams

Martha Jean Williams, age 78 of Marked Tree, AR passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, April 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Martha was a devoted mother of three and wife of almost 60 years to Glenn Williams. She was an adoring grandmother to six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren as well as a beloved sister and friend. She cherished her family and put them first in all that she did. She loved her family and friends and was deeply loved in return. She was employed at Marked Tree Bank and First Delta Bank for 40 years combined. She retired from First Delta Bank as Vice President in 2014. She was known and treasured for her gentle nature, kindness, and always friendly and welcoming smile. She was a Christian and a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Marked Tree, AR.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Avery and Vera Branch of Marked Tree, AR as well as her brother James Avery Branch of Marked Tree, AR.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Glenn Williams of Marked Tree, AR, children Sherry (David) Counce of Marion AR, Gary (Jeannie) Williams of Crossett, AR, and David Williams of Marked Tree, AR. She is also survived by her grandchildren Justin (Blakelee) Counce of Jonesboro, AR, Ashley Counce of Conway, AR, Anna Claire (Robbie) Sullivan of Jonesboro, AR, Connor Williams and Cooper Williams of Crossett, AR, and Alana Williams of Marked Tree, AR as well as her great-grandchildren Creed Counce, Shea Blu Counce, and Anders Counce of Jonesboro, AR. She is also survived by her siblings Janie (Cliff) Parham of Marked Tree, AR, Ruth (Bob) Jones of Trumann, AR, Betty (Don) Beck of Marked Tree, AR, John Wayne Branch of Cordova, TN, Margie Malone of Marked Tree, AR, Alice Cavitt of Tyronza, AR, Reda (Danny) Ellis of Whitton, AR, Michael Branch of Jonesboro, AR, Billy (Trish) Branch of Heafer, AR, and Terry (Brenda) Branch of Tyronza, AR. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Funeral service will be held Friday, April 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree, AR.  Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree, AR.

Interment will follow service at Tyronza Cemetery, Tyronza, AR.

Brother Ron Lovins will officiate the service.

Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree, AR.

Pallbearers will be: Gary Williams, David Williams, Justin Counce, Connor Williams,

Cooper Williams, and Robbie Sullivan.

I can always hear her laughter and see that smile just like in this picture.. She accomplished many things in her life from hard work and determination. She was a country girl at heart and loved her family with her whole heart.This not goodbye Ms. Martha this is I will see you and Loretta one day in our heavenly home. Maybe they will have ur favorite Banana splits in heaven.
