Martha Ford

Martha Blackwood Ford, 85, of Memphis, Tennessee formerly of Lepanto, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Southaven, Mississippi.  She was born on July 8, 1932 in Lepanto, Arkansas to Elbert Richardson and Thelma Edith Hyde Blackwood.  Martha was a member of the Church of Christ in Lepanto and Memphis, a gray lady for Kennedy Hospital in Memphis for many years, treasurer for the Lepanto Alumni Association and huge Memphis Tigers fan.  She enjoyed reading, sports and spending time with her family most of all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother: Ross Blackwood and sister: Freda Armer.

Martha is survived by her two daughters: Lauri Adams (Dennis) of Hot Springs and Marty Parks (Woody) of Southaven, Mississippi, two sisters: Patsy McClain of Lepanto and Faye Hill of Memphis, Tennessee, four grandchildren: Joshua Adams, Hank Parks, Nick Parks (Codi) and Zack Parks and three great grandchildren: Paisley Parks, Piper Parks and Araya Adams.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00am at Goodman Oaks Church of Christ in Southaven, Mississippi.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time.

Interment will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto.

Donations may be made to the Literacy Council of Garland County, Arkansas.
