Margaret Ann Huff (Pounders) passed away at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee early on March 5, 2021 with her family by her side to join her Heavenly Father at the age of 74 years. She was born on December 27, 1946, to Velma (Purser) and Cephas Pounders. She was a school teacher in Arkansas and moved to Nolensville, Tennessee after retiring to be near her granddaughters.
Margaret graduated from Lepanto High School in 1963. She earned a BA from Arkansas Tech and completed her MSE at University of Central Arkansas. She married her high school sweetheart, Ernest Huff, on September 11, 1964.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Buddy and Donnie Ponders and her sister Charlotte Powell.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Ernest, and her children: Ernest Huff, Jr (wife Audrey) of Benton, Arkansas; Kandis Tharp (husband Doug) of San Diego, California; and Kasey Ignatin (husband Rick) of Nolensville, Tennessee. She was a beloved Nana to five grandchildren: Landon Huff, Alexis Ignatin, Sadie Huff, Emma Ignatin and Caleb Huff. She will be sadly missed by her siblings: Shirley VanSickel of French Settlement, Louisiana, Juanita Davis of Hamilton, Mississippi, and Harold Pounders of Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was a dear sister-in-law to Evelyn Pendergrass of Yuma, Tennessee. She was a dear aunt to over 40 nieces and nephews and a beloved friend to many.
The memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 1:00p.m. at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas and the interment will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto, Arkansas with the arrangements under the care of Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a memorial donation in Margaret’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
