Linda Sue O’Dell, 68 of Marked Tree Arkansas departed this life on February 18, 2021 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas on September 18, 1952 to Jesse James and Jo Ann Martin McCrary.
Linda was 100% devoted to others than her own self. She owned Linda’s Flowers and Gifts in downtown Marked Tree and always greeted everyone with a warm smile and loved making her customers happy. She was proud to be a part of helping her community. She loved Marked Tree and served whole hearted. She was a member of Corner’s Chapel Baptist Church and served as the secretary to the Marked Tree Cemetery Association. She was very involved and a proud supporter of the Marked Tree Fire Department. They named her Honorary Marked Tree Firefighter. She organized the Cotton Pickin’ Jubilee, the Marked Tree Fire Department Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting. Linda was a 1971 graduate of Marked Tree High School. She was the Indian Mascot and proud to be a Marked Tree Indian. She coordinated Marked Tree Alumni Class reunions, she supported every event, fundraiser and never missed a home football game.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Linda is survived by her son: Brad O’Dell and his wife Angie of Pelahatchie, Mississippi, two brothers: Jamie McCrary and his wife Lisa of Marked Tree, Tommy McCrary and his wife Sherry of Marked Tree, two sisters: Debby Bragg and her husband Olen of Jonesboro and Terry Davis and her husband John of Newfaine, Vermont, three grandchildren: Bella O’Dell, Zackery and Blake McMillan, one uncle: Will McCrary and his wife Leah of Harrisburg.
Funeral services will held be Thursday February 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. A walk through visitation will be held Wednesday February 24, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral and visitation will be held at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree. Brother Patrick Tucker will officiate the funeral service.
Interment will follow when weather permits at Marked Tree Cemetery.
