Leah Raymella Rider

Leah Raymella Rider, 89, of Hixson, Tn. departed this life on Monday November 4,2024, at Catherine’s Place Personal Care Home in Ocean Springs, MS. She was born on December 27, 1934, in Dardanelle, AR to Burlin James and Leotta Mae Bezzo Furr.

After growing up and marrying her life’s love in 1951, she spent thirty years as an Army Officer’s wife: serving her country stateside when he was deployed. She also owned two dress shops in Northern Virginia and ran those for several years. She had many hobbies and interests including cooking, home canning, ceramics, quilting, sewing, and knitting but her greatest love was spending time with family… especially being “Granny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren!

 She is preceded in death by her husband: Archie Allen Rider, her parents, and her sister-in-law: Jeanie Furr. Leah is survived by her daughter: Regina Rider Estes and husband Larry of Hixson, TN and her son: Craig Rider and wife Becky of Biloxi, MS, grandchildren: Paula and Chris Webb of Spring Hill, TN, Jeff and Alicia Estes of Coto de Caza, CA, Candice and Shawn Clark of Clinton, MS, Angela and Jason Collins of Caledonia, MS, Corey and Sarah Akers of Powder Springs, GA, Allie Danielle and Andrew Jagodzinski of Hockley, TX, Ross Allen Rider and Brianna Ellingsberg of Cudahy, WI, great grandchildren: Griffin Webb of New York, NY, Garrett Webb of Spring Hill, TN, Jacob Estes of Coto de Caza, CA, Annika Estes of Coto de Caza, CA, Cailyn Clark of Clinton, MS, Holden Collins of Caledonia, MS and Hailey Jagodzinski of Hockley, TX, brothers: Noel Furr of Phoenix, AZ and James Furr and wife Judy of Las Cruces, NM, brother-in-law: Maurice Rider of Lepanto, AR and sister-in-law: Vera Peters of Concord, NC.

 Funeral services will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. and visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto, AR.

 Interment will follow in Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto, AR.

 Brother Martin Jones will officiate the service.
