Joyce A. Glover

Joyce A. Glover, 88, of Searcy, Arkansas formerly of Lepanto, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at her home.  She was born on November 6, 1934 to Nathan and Faye Caldwell Atkinson in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  Joyce moved to Lepanto as a young child and spent majority of her life here.  She married her high school sweetheart Bob in 1953 and raised her family in Lepanto.  She worked her only job for the Lepanto Agency/Little River Bank until she retired.  Joyce was an active member of the Lepanto Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School well into her 70’s.  Life was never better than the time spent on the corner of Maple Street and Sycamore where the Atkinsons, Glovers and Kelsos resided as one big happy family of three generations.  Her family was her passion, spending countless days in the bleachers watching her sons play football, basketball and baseball.  Living close to school, her house was the team meeting place before heading to school for the game.  She loved her grandkids and made sure that all were loved and spoiled with lots of attention and trips, and with great trips to the dollar store.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Orval Robert (Bob) Glover and one son: Steve Glover.

Joyce is survived by her son: Stan Glover and Cara of Searcy, Arkansas, daughter in law: Janice of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Eric Evans of Memphis, Tennessee, three grandchildren: Derek Glover of Monroe, Wisconsin, Ryne Glover and Sierra of Vilonia, Arkansas and Kristen Glover of Searcy, Arkansas, four great grandchildren: Anna-Kate, Thomas, Oliver and Jack Glover all of Monroe, Wisconsin, one sister: Peggy Kelso and Wayne of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 2:00p.m. at Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas.

Visitation will be held from 1:00p.m. until service time.

Interment will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto, Arkansas.
