Joyce Gilbert

Joyce Ann Gilbert, 73, of Marked Tree, departed this life on Friday, August 2, 2019 at her home.  She was born on July 30, 1946 to William Thomas and Johnnie Myrl Tolbert Taylor.

Joyce was a member of Tyronza Church of Christ.  She loved church, the bible, quilting, playing sports, cooking, taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her brothers: William Thomas “Sonny” Taylor, Jr, Jimmy Taylor, Jerry Taylor and Donnie “Hoppy” Taylor and sister: Betty Kelley.

She is survived by her husband of 51 ½ years: Sam L. Gilbert of the home, 3 sons: Rex Gilbert (Connie) of Paragould, Brian Gilbert of Marked Tree, and Jason Gilbert (Deanna) of Marked Tree, 1 daughter: Brenda Shannon (Trey) of Wilson, 4 brothers: Allen Taylor of Turrell, Morris Ray Taylor of Lepanto, Howard “Cotton” of Howe Indiana, and Ronnie “Micky” Taylor of LaGrange, Indiana, 3 sisters: Janice Sue Young of Lepanto, Carol Tacker of Marion and Linda Kay Blagg of Heafer and 8 Grandchildren: Adam, Bailey, Madison, Breanna, Melanie, Makenzie, Brilynn and Bristol.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 05, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree.

Visitation will be Monday, August 05, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Interment will follow at Marked Tree Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers family request memorials to be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
