Jerry Stokes

Jerry Earl Stokes, 70, of Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, November 23, 2020 in Morrilton, Arkansas.  He was born on January 15, 1950 in Dyess, Arkansas to Marvin Olas and Mildred Johnson Stokes.

He was a member of Libby Road Missionary Baptist Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas.  He was a retired Army Veteran, the former Fire Chief and volunteer for Search and Rescue in Caraway, Arkansas, worked for Craighead County Road Department.  He loved working in the community, riding his motorcycle, playing on the lake and loved to make people laugh.

Jerry is preceded in death by his Father: Marvin Olas Stokes, one brother: Gary Elliott Stokes and Step-Father: T. Henry Allison.

He is survived by his wife: Linda Bartlett Stokes of the home, his mother: Mildred Allison of Keiser, Arkansas, five daughters: Melissa Brumley (Don) of Etowah, Arkansas, Vicki Bitner (Curtis) of Etowah, Arkansas, Cyndi Scott (Kenny) of Milligan Ridge, Arkansas, Carla Stokes of Manila, Arkansas and Jerry LaDell Stokes of Tyronza, Arkansas, three bonus daughters: Vicki Baker (Ty) of Elkhart, Indiana, Karen Burgess of Cabot, Arkansas and Sherrie Gamble of Hot Springs, Arkansas, two brothers: Terry Stokes (Kaye) of Heber Springs, Arkansas and James Stokes (Eloise) of Etowah, Arkansas,  two sisters: Linda Kirk (Bobby) of Etowah, Arkansas, and Barbara Williams of Heber Springs, Arkansas, fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, seven bonus grandchildren and eleven bonus great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are: P.J. Brumley, Dalton Brumley, Hunter Scott, Brody Scott, Mark Weathers, Bubba Boyd, Josh McQueen and Peyton McQueen.

Brother Chuck Roach will be officiating the service.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 1:00 pm.  There will be a walk-through visitation Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. All services are at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas.

Interment will follow funeral service at Garden Point Cemetery, Etowah, Arkansas. Due to COVID-19 mask are required at all times and social distancing will be practiced.
