James Ellis Vick

James Ellis Vick, 87, of Marked Tree, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  He was born on August 29, 1936, in Marietta, Mississippi to William Orelle and Purnie Ann Letson Vick.  James was a Christian and enjoyed hunting, fishing and racecar driving.  

He is preceded in death by his wife: Joanne Vick, his parents, four brothers: William Lee Vick, Willard Dene Vick, Roger Vick, and Morris Ray Vick, three sisters: Lois Way, Ruby Louise (Tootsie) Gibbs and Ellen Carter.

James is survived by four sons: Jimmy Vick of Somerville, Alabama, Charles Vick (Penny) of Goreville, Illinois, Ronny Vick (Bunny) of Hartselle, Alabama and Kerry Vick of Marked Tree, Arkansas, one daughter: Ronda Vick Smith of Hartselle, Alabama, two brothers: Rayburn Vick (Dean) of Trumann, Arkansas and Odie Vick of Marked Tree, Arkansas, three sisters: Faye Turner of Marion, Arkansas, Angie Fields (Billy) of Proctor, Arkansas and Cindy Byles of Jonesboro, Arkansas, six grandchildren: Craig, Lee, Lance, Valarie, Sarah and Sydney, four great grandchildren: Andee, Olive, Zoe and Gabriel and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas,   

Interment will follow service in Marked Tree Cemetery.

Brother Rick Kimery will officiate the service.
