J. Hardin

J. Darrell Hardin, 88 of Payneway passed away February 11, 2017 at Three Rivers Nursing Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas, after a short illness. He was born in Payneway (Harrisburg Corner) on September 18, 1928 to B.J Hardin and Rosie Allen Hardin. He attended Marked Tree High School where he met his wife, Charlsie Mae Simpson. They were married on January 6, 1950 at the First Methodist parsonage in Marked Tree.
He joined Corner's Chapel Baptist Church in Payneway when he was 22 years old and remained at dedicated, supportive member until his passing. Darrell and Charlsie were devoted to each other and were known for their kindness and care of family, friends and neighbors. They enjoyed having visitors in their home and their yearly Christmas display was enjoyed by many. Darrells favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting rabbits and squirrels.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Flora Koch.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Charlsie of Three Rivers Nursing Home in Marked Tree and his niece: Ruth Strugnell of Midlothian, Illinois, as well as other family members and numerous friends.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00pm at Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas.
The family will receive friends from 12 until service time.
Interment will follow at Marked Tree Cemetery
Reverend Glen Hurst will officiate and honored to be pallbearers are: Glenn Gillis, Ewell Watson, Ray Cook, Bob Myers, Jay Paul Woods, Eddie Nash and honorary pallbearer Steve Tacker.
