Hershel Ray Gibbs

Hershel Ray Gibbs, 85, of Tyronza, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, February 27, 2023, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  He was born on January 8, 1938, to Dempsey Comer and Berta Loucile Scott Gibbs in Okolona, Mississippi. 

He is preceded in death by his wife: Loretta Louise Burns Gibbs, his parents, one son: Bobby Gibbs, and two brothers: Kenneth Gibbs and Oneal Gibbs.

Hershel is survived by one son: Frankie Gibbs of Tyronza, Arkansas, one brother: Franklin Gibbs of Marked Tree, Arkansas, four sisters: Mable Woods of Waterloo, Alabama, Vera Owen of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Betty Bruce of Oakland, Tennessee and Sandy May of Vilonia, Arkansas, two grandchildren: Jami Selby of Memphis, Tennessee and Jessica Gibbs of Rogers, Arkansas and two great grandchildren: Madison Selby of Memphis, Tennessee and Baylee Selby of Oakland, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas.

Interment will follow service in Tyronza Cemetery, Tyronza, Arkansas.

Brother Ron Lovins will officiate the services.
