Hazel Marie Posey

Hazel Marie Posey, 76, of Judsonia, Arkansas departed this life on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Oakdale Nursing Home in Judsonia.  She was born on August 12, 1946, to Albert “Ab” Elzey and Bertha “Bit” Ellen Adams Posey in Poinsett County, Arkansas.  Hazel was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She was raised by her aunt “Sis” Adell Cowan.  After Aunt Sis passed away, she moved to Judsonia to stay with her caregivers: Margie and Frank Cowan.  Pat Griggs taught her reading and math. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Aunt “Sis” Adell and Wylie Cowan, Frank Sr. and Erin Cowan, Frank Cowan, Jr., Willie Cowan and Jody Cowan.

Hazel is survived by her cousins: Margie Cowan of Judsonia, Shannon Froud (Louis) of Step Rock, her angel: Rhonda Davis (Michael) of Judsonia, Matt Cowan of Alabama, Nathaniel Cowan (Rachel) of Conway and Pat Griggs (Tony) of Judsonia, Malarie, Braiden, Quincy, Kelsie, Nicholas, Cameron, Mariah, Rose, Cole, Candy, Victoria, William, Melissa, Heather, Danny, her church family and Pastors: Scott Pevehouse and Brother Johnny Mitchell, she loved their ties.

Funeral service will be held, Monday, July 31, 2023 at 1:00PM at Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas,

Visitation will be held Monday from 12:00PM until service time.

Interment will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto.

Brother Johnny Mitchell will officiate the service.

Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto.
