Grady Lee Johnson, 78, of Etowah, Arkansas departed this life on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at his home. He was born on November 20, 1940 to Robert Lafeyette and Violet Mae Harvison Johnson. Grady was a member of New Liberty Baptist church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed horse racing, hunting and fishing, a professional Adventurer. He loved his family, children and had a love for everyone. You never misunderstood what Grady was saying, he was straight forward. He taught his sons and many others how to work and use their hands to make a living for their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 son: Walter Ashby, 4 brothers: Ennis, Harvey, William and Fred Johnson, 2 sisters: Patsy Dunn and Bonnie Fleming.
Grady is survived by his 4 sons: Dale Johnson (Tina) of Austin, Grady Joe Johnson (Kim) of Caraway, Rusty Ashby (Elizabeth) of Charleston, SC. and Adam Ashby of Blytheville. 3 brothers: Bob Johnson (Evalene) of Yorba Linda, CA, Robert Johnson (Shirley) of Etowah and Nathan Johnson (Toni) of Pittsville, IL. 4 sisters: Nora Ferguson of Etowah, Peggy Morgan (Kenneth) of Etowah, Carolyn Moore (Wayne) of Monette and Martha Haas (Mike) of Monette. 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and the mother of his children: Jo Ann Johnson of Luxora.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 10:00 am at Garden Point Cemetery in Etowah, Arkansas.
