Evelyn Griggs

Evelyn Lucille Griggs, 72, of Harrisburg, Arkansas departed this life on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  On August 1, 1948 she was born to Charles and Bertha Nash Herman.

Evelyn was a member of Trinity Baptist church in Marked Tree, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a loving mother to many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother: Gary Herman and 2 sisters: Barbara Couey and Willene Tittle.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 53 years: Leon Griggs of the home, 3 sons: Leon Griggs of Harrisburg, Arkansas, Jimmy Don Griggs ( Jennifer) of Osceola, Arkansas and Charles Griggs (Jessica) of Bono, Arkansas, 2 daughters: Melinda Towery (Ray) of Dyess, Arkansas and Angie Potter (Skip) of Vandelle, Arkansas, 2 brothers: Butch Herman (Mary Nell) of Desha, Arkansas and Travis Miller of Lebanon, Tennessee, 3 sisters: Mary VanHorn (Robert) of Trona, California, Kay Johnson of Caraway, Arkansas and Sandy Speight of Lepanto, Arkansas, 13 grandchildren: Caitie, Chris, Zachary, Jake, Annie, Evan, Andrea, Aiden, Addison, Wade, Corbyn, Dusty and Blake, 1 great grandchild: Kinsley and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10:00 am and visitation will be held Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas.
