Doyce Elnore Ross

October 23, 1936 — September 30, 2024

Doyce Elnore Ross, a cherished matriarch and beloved member of the Marked Tree and Tyronza communities, departed this world on September 30, 2024, at her residence, just weeks shy of her eighty-eighth birthday. Born on October 23, 1936, Doyce lived a life marked by kindness, compassion and an unfaltering devotion to her family and friends.

As the proud owner of the Lazy Daisy Dress Shop, she dedicated herself to the art of sewing. Her remarkable talent as a seamstress not only adorned many with elegance but also reflected her warm spirit. She retired from Wal-Mart after twenty years. Doyce was a woman of varied passions; an avid Bible scholar, she took pleasure in delving into the scriptures, finding solace and strength in faith. Beyond the realm of fabric and thread, she embraced the creative arts through crocheting and painting, and she derived great satisfaction from knitting for the Flo and Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She enjoyed shopping and playing Mahjong. Figurines and nativity scenes adorned her home, each telling a story of her unique tastes and cherished memories. Doyce's heart belonged to her beloved cats.

She was a member of the Marked Tree First Baptist Church for many years. Doyce's kindness knew no bounds; she loved to lend a helping hand and loved deeply those fortunate enough to be in her presence.

Doyce leaves behind a legacy of love through her immediate family. She is survived by one son, Gregg Ross and his wife Ruth of Paragould, Arkansas: two daughters, Kimberly Johnson of Marked Tree, Arkansas, and Rhonda Hood and her husband David of Marion, Arkansas, three grandsons: Craig Ross and his wife Misty, Lee Ross and his wife Angie and Terry Johnson, Jr. and his wife Keena, seven great-grandchildren: Laney Jo, Camden, Holden, Owen, Navi Rae, Logan and Swayzi Lynn, and a host of her Ross family of brothers and sister in laws, and many nieces, nephews and friends..

As we gather to honor the memory of Doyce Elnore Ross, we also remember her late husband, Wallace Ross, with whom she shared a remarkable union for sixty-two years. Together they created a nurturing family and a wealth of memories that will be cherished forever. Doyce was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen Virginia Haygood Olive, one brother, Jimmy Olive, two sisters, Barbara Hindman and Ora Bell Berlemann, one nephew, Brother Johnny Olive, and three nieces, Debbie Sulre, Denise Stahlhat and Katy Tacker.

In celebration of her life, visitation will take place on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM at the Tyronza First Baptist Church, located at 244 S Main St, Tyronza, Arkansas, 72386. Interment will be in Tyronza Cemetery, Tyronza, Arkansas.

Doyce Elnore Ross's life was a testament to the beauty of kindness and the power of love. As we bid farewell, we hold close the memories of her laughter, her unwavering spirit, and the profound impact she has left on all who knew her.
