Dorothy “Dottie” Whaley, 68, of Rivervale, Arkansas departed this life Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born October 5, 1950 in Tupelo, Mississippi to Leland and Syble Angle Brown.
Mrs. Whaley was an outdoors lady, who was fun loving and loved to make people laugh. She enjoyed her work as a landscaper, planting flowers and fishing and hunting. She had a love for animals to the point of rescuing them and taking care of them. Her greatest love was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her granddaughter: Brandy Michelle Whaley, one brother: Claude Brown and two sisters: Francis Payne and Shirley Brown.
Dottie is survived by her husband: John Whaley of the home, three daughters: Sandi Tice of Madison, Alabama, April Whaley of Rivervale, Arkansas and Sherry White of Manatachie, Mississippi, six sons: Johnny Whaley, Robert Whaley and Jesse Whaley all of Manatachie, Mississippi, Keith Whaley of Guntown, Mississippi, Michael Whitmon and Allen Whitmon both of Mooreville, Mississippi, two sisters: Janet DuBois and Wanda Arnold both of Tupelo, Mississippi, thirty four grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held, Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Rivervale Baptist Church in Rivervale, Arkansas.
Arrangements are under the care of Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home, Lepanto, Arkansas.
