Cason Aaron Seth Marshall often called Carson by his grandma elect and Aunt Morgan Marshall and old man by his grandfather Rocky Marshall by his mannerisms of humility and respect for others at such a young age. Others soon followed suit by calling him the same and it stuck with him, because he truly had an old soul. It was like he had been here before, and he showed us that all the time by making sure that his family knew that they mattered to him and he expressed well that it was enough for him.

Cason came into the world faced with many challenges. He smiled through them all and would often laugh them off as he surpassed several milestones that he was never expected to reach.

Cason was blessed amongst us for such a short amount of time; however, he led a meaningful life all of his days. He was not the typical one year old. He was one of the best babies that would have graced the presence of others. He was a blessing to the lives of his family and all the lives that he touched. He smiled all the time and his laughter was infectious. He’d have you laughing at him laughing because he simply believed in sharing himself with others. He never pulled away from anyone wanting to express love to him and he never shyed away from showing unconditional love.

Cason left his mark on anyone that he encountered. His strength was incredible and he highlighted his amazing strength with all that he did. He woke up with purpose and he showcased his purpose by how he touched others. He gave them a sense of purpose for their lives by how he lived his very own.

Our little fighter as his mother would often call him, who we learned from how to fight, why we fight, and what we fight for. He was truly a God send.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents: Dora Marshall and Lincoln Childress Jr. and a special relative: Erica Harrison.

He is survived by his mother: Robyn Marshall, his father: Derek Russell,  grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Rocky Marshall, paternal grandmother: Crystal Gordon and Derek Russell, Sr.,   great grandparents: Marva and Larry Crutchfield, paternal great grandmother: Denise Russell,  godmother: Ateequa Alcorn,  his godmother elect and aunt: Madison Marshall, paternal god parents: Therie and Wanda Hill, a special paternal Uncle: Dayton Gordon,  grandmother elect and Aunt:  Morgan Marshall (because she took on the role of more than an aunt and alternate mother figure), godfather and Uncle: Aasin Marshall, a very special cousin and friend: Asa Marshall and a host of other relatives and family members.
