Bradford "Brad" Irwin Massey

Bradford (Brad) Irwin Massey, 66, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Marked Tree, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023, at Conway Regional Medical Center after battling pulmonary fibrosis for the past two years. He was born on June 16, 1957, to Billy Murl and Peggy Lou Brewer Massey.

Brad met the love of his life, Barbara Hendrix, at his family-owned grocery store, Buck’s Grocery, in 1981.  Brad and Barbara were married on October 16, 1982, where they continued to work in the family business before starting their own business, which they owned and operated for the next fifteen years.  During this time, they operated the business, raised their daughter, and enjoyed golfing with their friends.  In 2006, they moved to Heber Springs, Arkansas.  This was a dream come true for Brad. He always talked about being able to retire in Heber Springs.  He worked as a manager for CRC Oil Company before retiring.  He then enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren, whether that was at home or at his favorite place on the lake.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Billy Murl Massey and Peggy Brewer Brannan, grandparents: Felix “Buck” and Emma Lou Brewer, and Rufus and Lucy Massey.

Brad is survived by his wife of forty-one years: Barbara Massey of the home, daughter: Brandi Fletcher (Nick) of Cabot, Arkansas, two grandchildren: Abigale and Brantlee Morton of Cabot, Arkansas, two brothers: David Massey (Jennifer) of Marked Tree, Arkansas, and Bill Massey (Renee) of Statesboro, Georgia, Aunt: JoAnn Henderson of Marked Tree, Arkansas and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Delancey Funeral Home, Marked Tree.

Brother Jason Michael Hall and Dr. Bill Massey will officiate the service.

Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home, Marked Tree, Arkansas.
