Bob Steele Herod, Sr.

Bob Steele Herod, Sr., 83, of Mountain View, Arkansas formerly of Marked Tree, departed this life on December 24, 2023 at the Stone County Medical Center, Mountain View, AR.  He was born on December 15, 1940 in New Albany, Mississippi to Robert and Ethel Hill Herod.  Bob was of the Pentecostal faith, he enjoyed singing and worked as a machine operator for Midsouth.  He enjoyed anything outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.  While living in Marked Tree, he helped with Little League baseball and he was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s, Las Angeles Lakers and New York Yankees fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son: Bob Steele Herod, Jr., three brothers: John, Robert and Roger Herod, three sisters: Jeanette Humble, Mabel Sims and Betty Fricks.

Bob is survived two daughters: Sharon Lane and husband David of Cabot, Arkansas and Annisa Smart of Mountain View, Arkansas, four grandchildren: Brittani, Bradford, Jase and Jade, four great grandchildren: Kynlee, Laney, Nolan and Neeley and a host of nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services will be held at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Interment will follow in Marked Tree Cemetery, Marked Tree, Arkansas.

Brother Patrick Tucker will officiate the service.

Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home, Marked Tree.
